This Sunday March 28, 2021, we will be honoring and remembering the Importance of the Triumphant Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, Palm Sunday and Passover. The significance of each of these events is paramount in understanding all that Christ Jesus did prior to being hung on the Cross and dying for our sins. On April 4th, 2021 is RESURRECTION SUNDAY, we will be Remembering, Honoring, and Celebrating our Risen Savior! Hallelujah!
THE TRIUMPHANT ENTRY OF JESUS:
(Matthew, Chapter 21, Verses 1-8), Jesus gives the Prophecy of His Death to His Disciples, in the prior Chapter of Matthew 20, Verses 17 through 34. As they got close to Jerusalem, they entered into Bethpage, unto the Mount of Olives. Bethpage means in the Aramaic Language, The House of Green Figs. This Village was very fruitful and prosperous. This Village of Bethpage was 3 Days of Travel from Jericho and Jerusalem. We remember the History of Jericho, the Battle of Jericho, lead by Joshua (See Joshua, Chapter 6, Verses 1-27). Each day, Jesus taught on the Road of Bethpage until He arrived at the Mount of Olives. The Mount of Olives is where Jesus had given the Prophecy of the Destruction of Israel at the bottom of the Mount of Olives. Today it is a modern graveyard, and to be buried can range up to $25,000. It was also the place where Jesus was betrayed by Judas Iscariot at the Garden of Gethsemane. The Mount of Olives is the last place Jesus is seen after His Ascension at the Top of the Mountain being Transfigured back into Heaven to ABBA, Father.
PALM SUNDAY: ( Matthew, Chapter 21, Verses 8-20).
After Jesus had commanded the 2 Disciples to get the Donkey and a Colt with the Donkey, they put on both the Donkey and the Colt their clothes, and put Jesus on the Donkey. As Jesus moved through the crowd, like a modern parade, the crowd shouted out, "Hosanna to the Son of David, BLESSED IS HE THAT COMETH IN THE HAME OF THE LORD; Hosanna in the Highest." The Word "Hosanna" is a Praise of Adoration. It means, "Please Lord, Save Us! Please Lord, Give Us Success (Psalm 118: 19-29). The use of the Palms were to signify Prestige and Royalty during this time period, as Jesus entered the City of Jerusalem (Psalm 92, Jeremiah 24:7, and Revelation 7: 9-17). How sad was it that later these same people who were praising Jesus, then turned on Him, and wanted Him put to death. They had to get rid of Jesus, He was messing with their money. They that were in the temple became upset with Jesus because He went into the Temple, and overturned the Money Tables and dealt with the Money Changers. They had turned God's House into a market place instead of the Holy Place it was to be. It was to be a House of Prayer, but it was far from it(Matthew 21: 12-27). Do we see some similarities in the Body of Christ today? Selah=Holy Pause, Think About It.
The HISTORY of the PASSOVER: (The Book of Exodus, Chapters 8 through 15).
In Jewish Heritage, the Passover is known as "Pesach". It means a Special Gathering for a Special Dinner called "Seder". It is celebrated and honored in the Jewish Calendar in the Month of Nisan on the 15th Day, around Spring Time. The Celebration lasts for 7 Days. The importance of the Passover is that it marks the Remembrance of how Father, God delivered the Children of Israel from the hand of Pharaoh in Egypt. The Seal of the Protection from the Angel of Death on the Final Plaque was to put the Blood of the Sacrificed Lamb on the Top and the Sides of Each Door. The Angel of Death would see, and not kill the First Born Son of that Household.
Jesus became the Sacrificed Lamb for All when He suffered, bled, died, arose, and ascended back to ABBA, Father for His Completed Mission of His Love, according to John 3:16.Our next studies will be on Holy Week, Good Friday, and the Resurrection of Our Lord and Savior. Stay Tuned!
HOLY WEEK : ( The Gospel of Matthew, Chapters 21-25).
The Preparation of Passover continues as Jesus is speaking Parables to the Chief Priests, the Scribes, and His Disciples. The Parables that Jesus spoke to them about were: #1., The King's Marriage Feast (See Matthew, Chapter 22); #2., The Eight Woes on Religious Leaders (See Matthew, Chapter 23); #3., The Prophecy of the End of Time (See Matthew, Chapter 24); #4., The Ten Virgins (See Matthew, Chapter 25) ; #5., What the Kingdom of Heaven is Like or Compared to (See Matthew 25, Verses 14-30); and #6., The Prophecy of His Return/His Second Coming(See Matthew 25, Verses 31-46).
By the time, Jesus had finished with all His Parables, the Chief Priests and Scribes had enough. Jesus was becoming to popular with the people and messing with the money. The Haters were after Jesus. They put together a plot to conspire to get Jesus and crucify Him, and they were going to use Judas to help them get Jesus. Judas became upset with Jesus when A Woman came and put on Jesus' Head this very Precious and Expensive Oil from the Alabaster Box. Judas wanted the Oil to be sold for money, and Jesus reprimanded Judas because what this Woman had done was crucial in preparing Jesus for His Death (See Matthew 26, Verses 1-13).
Judas sought out the Chief Priests, and asked them how much money would they give him if he brought/delivered Jesus over them. He was offered 30 Pieces of Silver and he took the money. Now the Day of Passover had come, and His Disciples wanted to know where they were going to celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread. According to Verse 18 of Matthew 26, Jesus had sent the Disciples out as He did before in preparation of Palm Sunday, to find the place to celebrate Passover. Once the place was secured, and they were all together, Jesus told them that One of the Disciples would betray Him (See Verses 21-25).
HOLY COMMUNION:
As they were eating, Jesus took the Bread, Blessed It, Broke It Up into Pieces and gave it out to His Disciples, and said, " Take, Eat; This is My Body". He then gave them The Cup, which represented His Blood that He was preparing to shed by the Hands of the People through Pilate, and said, "Drink ye All of It, For this is My Blood of the New Testament, which is for Many for the Remission of Sins." (See Matthew 26, Verses 26-32, and Exodus 24, Verses 5-13). Holy Communion happened on what we know as Thursday, within the next 24 hours the whole world would be changing as Jesus is delivered up to die. Coming up will be Good Friday, the Burial of Jesus , and Resurrection Sunday; stay tuned!
GOOD FRIDAY: (See the Gospel of Matthew, Chapters 25-27),
After they had the Last Supper together with Jesus, they went to the Mount of Olives to sing and pray. While they were to tarry with Jesus, the Disciples had feel asleep 3 Times. Jesus was very disappointed that they could not stay awake at this important hour for Him. As they were praying the Garden of Gethsemane, the High Priests, Scribes, and Roman Officials came and arrested Jesus. Judas betrayed Jesus with the Kiss of Death to these folks; and later felt deep remorse for betraying Jesus, and hung himself on a tree. One of the Disciples had cut off the ear of one of the soldiers, and Jesus healed and restored right there amongst all the chaotic events. Jesus was brought before Pilate, and Pilate had given Jesus tough questions on who He was. At the end of the interrogation, Pilate had told the people, the haters of Jesus, that he had washed his hands of this matter, and that he could find no fault with Jesus. The people cried out to crucify Jesus and kill Him. They let a guilty man go by the name of Barrabas, and kept Jesus ,who was innocent, to crucified. Roman Soldiers beat Jesus beyond recognition; crown of thorns was placed on His Head, and they gave Him vinegar not water to drink.
They place where they crucified Jesus, was called Golgotha, which means the Place of a Skull. Jesus did not drink it. The Soldiers cast lots for His Clothes which was prophecy fulfilled from the Old Testament. They mocked Him and scorned Him that if He is the King of the Jews, then He should be able to get Himself down off the Cross. If Jesus would have come down from the Cross, all Humanity would have been damned for all Eternity. The Ninth Hour, Jesus cried to God and asked why God had forsaken Him on the Cross. Jesus was taking upon Himself the Pain of Death from Sin for every Human Being past, present, and future.
Jesus cried out again, and gave up the Ghost, and Died (See Matthew 27, Verses 33-50). This was the Goodness of this Friday. Jesus gave His Life for us for All Eternity. He reversed the Curse of Sin and Death from Adam and Eve in the Book of Genesis; so that we are now able to have Everlasting Life and Communication with Heavenly Dad. After Jesus died, there was a great earthquake that happened. Also there was a big crack in the middle of the Temple in Jerusalem from this earthquake. Some of the Roman centurions became remorseful because they had taken part in the Crucifixion and Death of Jesus. Joseph Arimathaea, a very rich man, who was a follower of Jesus, asked Pilate and the Government Officials if he could take Jesus' Body, and give Him a proper burial. They agreed, and he took the Body of Jesus, and buried Jesus where the rich and wealthy people were buried.
Over the next 3 Days, Jesus was quite busy. He went to Hell to Defeat Death. He had to recapture Old Testament Believers who were waiting on Him, like Noah, Moses, Abraham, Isaac, Joseph, King David, Ruth, Esther, Daniel, Isaiah, Joel, and so many others. Because they were under Old Testament Law, their sins had not been Forgiven and Blotted Out for All Eternity.
Jesus had to reconcile them and recapture them back into the Kingdom of God, as He has done for us. After the 3rd Day, the Resurrection of Jesus begins to take place of Him being seen after His Physical Death.
THE RESURRECTION OF KING JESUS, (See Matthew, End of Chapter 27, and all of Chapter 28).
Now Jesus had been in the Tomb for 3 Days. A very big stone, was placed in front of it so that it would be humanly impossible any one to get into the Tomb or to get out of the Tomb. On the 3rd Day, Mary Magdalene, Mary, the Mother of Jesus, and other women, were sitting outside of the Tomb. It was the end of the Sabbath, and the First Day of the Week was to begin, and both of the Women were there. There was another earthquake. The Angel of the Lord came from Heaven, and rolled back the Stone from the Tomb, and sat on it (See Verses 1-10).
He spoke with all who were present, and were in fear and awe, that he know who they were looking for, and that Jesus was not there. HE IS RISEN, AS HE SAID. The Angel of the Lord, told them to come on into the Tomb to see for themselves that the Body of Jesus was not there. The Women were instructed to go and to tell the Disciples of Jesus that HIS RESURRECTION had taken place just like He said. Jesus appeared to the Women, and told them where to tell the Disciples where they could meet up and see the Resurrected Jesus.
They meet in Galilee into the mountains, and Jesus appeared to them and spoke with them. Jesus was now in what is called His Glorified Body. It is a Body free from sin, death, sickness, and disease. Because of the Resurrection of Jesus, this Type of Body is what we are entitled to have as Believers in Christ Jesus, as we pass from death into Life. It is a Body of Light, filled with God's Love and His Presence. Now while Jesus was meeting with the Disciples and others, Thomas, who is known as Doubting Thomas, was not present at this meeting. Jesus had came to meet with Disciples again, and He showed Thomas, His hands, feet, and side where He was pierced when He was crucified. Thomas stuck his fingers into the wholes, and believed and gave Glory to God (See The Gospel of John, Chapters 20-21).
HAPPY RESURRECTION SUNDAY! We praise You and honor, You, King Jesus for making this happen for All Humanity. You are our Messiah and Lord and Savior! BLESSED BE HIM THAT COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD!
AFTER THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS (40 DAYS AND 40 NIGHTS):
Jesus is now seen by His Disciples, His Mother and Others after His Resurrection. It is recorded that Jesus was upon this Earth for 40 Days and 40 Nights preaching and ministering to others (See the Book of Acts, Chapter 1-16). What is the Significance of Jesus remaining upon this Earth for 40 Days and 40 Nights. We first need to examine the Importance of the Number #40 in Hebrew, Jewish, and Christianity Studies. We first learn about the #40 in the Old Testament when it rained 40 Days and 40 Nights on the Earth with the Great Flood during the Period of Noah, (See Genesis, Chapter 5, Verses 21-32, and Chapters 2 through Chapter 11).
Mankind had become so wicked that God destroyed the whole Earth with water. We know that the symbol of Water is a Purification Agent, a Cleansing Property. God wanted to clean up and purify the Earth from the wickedness of mankind for 40 Days and 40 Nights.
The next event we have on the Number 40, is when Children of Israel are in the Wilderness for 40 Years. When the Children of Israel left Egypt, their journey was only to take 21 Days; but because of their rebellious behavior, even as God's Chosen People, their journey to the Promised Land took 40 years. The Number 40 comes for Moses, as he lived in in Egypt for 40 years, and he lived in the Wilderness 40 years with the Children of Israel before he died ( See the Book of Exodus).
Lastly, we learn about the Number of 40, when Jesus is tempted in the Wilderness for 40 Days by satan (See the Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 4, Verses 1-11). In Chapter 3, of the Gospel, Jesus is being baptized by His First Cousin, John the Baptist, this was prophesied over the both of them by their mothers, Elizabeth and Mary by the Gabriel, the Angel (See the Gospel of Luke, Chapters 1-4). Jesus was in a High State of Enlightenment after He was Baptized!
His enemy, aka satan, now knew that Jesus was officially here on Earth to do God's Will and Business. Jesus was then tempted of satan for 40 Days and 40 Nights in the Wilderness. Now Jesus did not have bread or water to sustain Him physically as a man upon this Earth, so satan wanted to see if he could tempt and trick Jesus to be one of his own, and no longer be God's Begotten Son (See John 3: 1-21).
Jesus was tempted by satan on 3 Major Levels. The First Temptation was to see how desperate Jesus was for food to live. He wanted to know just what type of power Jesus had and was working with on this Earth. He wanted Jesus to turn stones into food, Jesus answered, It is written, MAN SHALL NOT LIVE BY BREAD ALONE, BUT BY EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDETH OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD (See Deuteronomy 8:7).
The Second Temptation of satan was to get Jesus to kill himself, and for Jesus to resurrect Himself before His Given Time of Resurrection (See Psalm 91). Jesus responded, It is written again, THOU SHALT NOT TEMPT THE LORD THY GOD (Deuteronomy 6:16). He was able to tempt Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and so he wanted to see if he could do the same to Jesus. Jesus let satan know that HE IS THE BEGOTTEN OF GOD.
The Last and Third Temptation of satan was to give Jesus power within the Earth to rule. After satan's fall from Heaven as Lucifer, he and a third of the angels came to have dominion over this Earth. He has and had power of Kingdoms and Principalities (See Ephesians, Chapter 6, Verses 10-19). He offered everything to Jesus. Jesus told him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written THOU SHALT WORSHIP THE LORD THY GOD, AND HIM ONLY SHALT THOU SERVE."
Jesus still had work to do After His Resurrection. He had to recapture and purify the Sin and Wickedness from the Period of Noah. He had to recapture and purify the Sin and Wickedness of the Children of Israel. He had to recapture and purify the Sin and Wickedness for All Generations through the Temptation of Satan. Jesus is also known as the Last Adam. He will always honor and complete FATHER'S WILL (See Revelation, Chapters 19-22).
