PRAYER POWER 4U

Scripture Text: The Book of First Thessalonians,

Chapter 5, Verses 2-24
Focused Text Verse: Verse 17

SUBJECT OF PRAYER: Pray Without Ceasing!

DEVELOPING A STRONG, SOLID

AND CONSISTENT PRAYER LIFE: Part 6

**********************************************************************************************************************************

STAND FAST IN THE LORD WITH PRAYER!

We have studied on the Fundamentals of Prayer by the example of Jesus in
Matthew, Chapter 6, Verses 5-18.

We will be working on how to have a Strong, Solid,
and Consistent Prayer Life.

In First Thessalonians, 5:17, Apostle Paul tells us to "Pray without Ceasing." We must be Praying All the Time!
As Believers and Followers of Christ Jesus,

we have to have a Prayer Life.

What is a Prayer Life?

A Prayer Life is a Discipled and Direct Method of Connecting with Father, God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit on Purpose/Intention for a Specific Outcome or Effect.

********************************************************************************************************************************

Part 1 in a Strong, Solid, and Consistent Prayer Life is to have a SET TIME AND PLACE TO PRAY. Of Course, one is able to pray anytime and anywhere; what we are speaking of here is a Sacred Prayer Time.

A Sacred Prayer Time needs a Set Time and Set Place for Transcending, Supernatural Communication with Father, God to take place. We learn of this type of prayer through Moses, Jesus and others in the Bible. Moses met with God and talked with God on Mt. Sinai; we learn of Moses' experience through Exodus, Chapters 3-19. We learn of Jesus' Praying Experiences all through the Gospels.

Part 2 in a Strong, Solid, and Consistent Prayer Life is to have a PRAYER LIST. In our Prayer List, who are we praying for why we are praying for them, and what are we praying for them.
In the Book of James, 5: 13-16 we are encouraged to pray for each other.

Prayer is able to break Generational Curses and Chains off of Your Family, Loved Ones, and Yourself.
It is important to know who we are interceding for and why. Intercessory Prayer is when we, we are praying for others. Dr. Bill Winston, states, "Intercessory Prayer is a Form of Manifesting God's Love for Others by Praying for them."

Part 3 in a Strong, Solid, and Consistent Prayer Life is to PRAY GOD'S WORD in our Prayer Time. Our Scripture Text is found in First John, Chapter 5, Verses 14-15. We are now working on making sure that we pray God's Word so that we are in His Perfect or His Complete Will. We then are able through Christ Jesus and the Holy Spirit connect with Father to honor and keep His Promises through His Word. When praying for someone or on matter, research the Scriptures, God's Word and applying to these Scriptures to Your Prayers. It will make Your Prayers heard, and it is a form of Bible Study of meditating and memorizing God's Word in Your Heart. You will grow stronger, and you will be amazed how God will answer Your Prayers.
Always praying in the Name of Jesus for Power, Accuracy, and Authority.

Part 4, Finding and Having a Prayer Partner. Why do we need to have a Prayer Partner?
We are able to pray alone to Father God, and we are able to have a Prayer Partner or a Prayer Team/Group to helps unite in Intercessory Praying and Touching and Agreeing. Jesus tells us in Matthew 18: 18-20 the following, "Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on Earth shall be bound in Heaven; and whatsoever ye shall loose on Earth shall be loosed in Heaven.  Again I say unto you, That if two shall agree on Earth and touching any thing that shall ask, it shall Be Done for them of My Father which is Heaven. For where two or three are gathered in My Name, there I am in the midst. "

There is Power in Unity, and Jesus assures us that He is in the midst of our Prayers, when are doing Intercessory Prayer on a Higher Level. A Prayer Partner or Group is able to share in the Testimony of how God has answered the Intercessory Prayer. They are able to give God the Glory and Praise through Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and our Ministering Angels (Second Corinthians 13:1).

What are the Fruitful Criteria of a Good and Faithful Prayer Partner/Group:

1. They are of the Household of Faith as Born Again Believers in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.
2. Confess Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
3. Their Lives and Speech show and reflect that they are Children of the Most High God.
4. They are strong in the Lord by knowing and living His Word consistently.
5. Believe in Fasting.
6. Have a Strong Prayer Life of Their Own.
7. Able to give and share of Testimonies of how God has answered their Prayers and Others.
8. Praying without ceasing and making themselves available for prayer.

Having a Prayer Partner holds us accountable to God, others, and ourselves in the growth of our Prayer Life.
As our Prayer Life becomes stronger, the "meat and potatoes" of our prayers will manifest that we are not still on the "milk" of
the Word in our Prayers, but growing as Matured Saints, able to get a Prayer through to the Lord through Jesus, and confident that He will hear us and answer our Prayers. A Prayer Partner, will assist in an honest reflection of where we are in our Prayer Life and how we are able to grow in our Prayer Life and know like Jesus that Father God is willing to do it for us by following the Example and Pattern of Jesus.

PART 5, FORMS OF PRAYERS

This year, we will be learning and studying about the different types of prayer in having an Effective Prayer Life.
The Forms we will be studying are:  1. The Prayer of Adoration and Blessing, 2. The Prayer of Praise, 3. The Prayer of Thanksgiving,
4. The Prayer of Petition and Supplication, 5. The Prayer of Intercession, 6. The Prayer of Confession, 7. The Prayer of Faith, 8. The Prayer of Consecration/Vows, 9. Prayer of the Holy Spirit, and 10. The Prayer of Agreement.

PART 6, PRAYER OF PETITION AND SUPPLICATION

Petition (df.) A Plea, A Request, A Demand.

Supplicate (df.) To request, to petition, to beg, to entreat, to beseech

Scripture Text: Philippians 4:6

Hello Family and Friends of Promised Land 07,

We were originally going to start with the Prayer of Adoration and Blessings; however, the Holy Spirit shared in Prayer and Meditation time to begin with the Prayer of Petition and Supplication.

This Form of Prayer is a plea, a demand, a formal and serious request for the Petitioner. It is similar to the Prayer of Intercession. The difference between the Prayer of Petition and Supplication versus the Prayer of Intercession is that the Prayer of Petition and Supplication is more on a Personal Level, and the Prayer of Intercession is interceding on the behalf of another.

The Prayer of Petition and Supplication places a direct demand on Father,
God through Jesus and the Holy Spirit to take an urgent concern from the Petitioner immediately. This Form of Prayer is usually pouring out one's heart or spirit unto the Lord in regard to an urgent an important matter.

A real good example of the Prayer of Petition and Supplication is when Jesus was on the Cross, and He cried out to Father, God on being forsaken (Matthew 27:45-46). The Prayer of Petition and Supplication is more personal in nature. This Form of Prayer deals with the intimacy between the Believer and Father, God through Christ Jesus.

Again, we want to learn to pray unto Father through Jesus, by understanding and applying the proper forms of Prayer so that we are not asking amiss or not following after the Pattern of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. In times like these, we need to bear our souls to Father, God.
We need to cry out to Him on constant basis, and stay being His Beloved Ones through Christ Jesus.

Here are some additional scriptures for your meditation on the Prayer and Supplication to our Heavenly Dad:

I King: 8: 28-59; I King 9:3, Psalm 6:9, Psalm 20:5, Psalm 30:8, Psalm 28:2-6, Psalm 31:22, Psalm 86:6, Psalm 116:1, Psalm 119:170
Jermiah 42:9, Daniel 6:11, Daniel 9:3-23, Hosea 12:4, Acts 1:14, Ephesians 6:18, I Timothy 5:5, and Hebrews 5:7

Pray, Pray, and Pray!

REVIEW:

1. Incorporate the Model Prayer/ the Foundation of Prayer given to us by Jesus (Matthew 6:5-18).

2. Schedule a Set Time and Place for Prayer.

3. Create a Specific and Detailed Prayer List.

4. Believe, Pray, and Speak God's Word Only for a Great Solid Prayer Life.

5. Find and Maintain a Prayer Partner/Group to Unity and Touching and Agreeing.

6. The Prayer of Petition and Supplication is more of Prayer of Intimacy on behalf of the Believer with Father, God.
